Deborah has joined the Faculty of CBAM after close to 30 years of healthcare experience in Canada and Abroad. Opening the first Medi-Spa and independent Nurse Practitioner clinic in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia was a natural extension of her passion for wellness, health and assisting patients in becoming the best version of themselves. She began her extensive healthcare career with the Canadian Forces Department of National Defense in 1990 expanding trauma, ER, occupational and primary health care into a broad base of clinical experience and expertise in various medical & healthcare settings throughout her expansive career.
Her patients and their wellness being held in high regard, her goals are to increase access to care, enhance patient’s optimal level of well-being and selfcare; she is passionate about creating a natural appearance that enhances patients looks and improves their confidence and self-esteem. Having attained masterclass medical aesthetic education and training she continues to seek further education to enhance her skills and ensure that her treatments are all cutting edge, enabling her to deliver the best treatment available. Since the beginning of her healthcare practice Deborah has been interested in preventative medicine with the belief that an essential foundation for maintaining vitality as we age includes a healthy diet, exercise, a balanced lifestyle and a good skin care regime. Offering injectables, laser, BBL, PRP and vaginal rejuvenation, to name a few, that deliver effective options to improve various skin conditions, reverse the damage of exposure, aging and medical conditions, she ensures the best aesthetic outcomes for her patients.
In addition to instructing for Athabasca University’s MN NP program, and providing medical aesthetics training for the Atlantic Training Institute for Medical Aesthetics, she precepts RN/NPs & holds a BScBio/chem, BScN & MN NP, and studies in Business, Comms & Psychology. As the Executive Chair for NPANS, council member of NPAC, member of the ICN/NPAPN, International Honors Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, Dalhousie University’s Honors Nursing Society, Cdn.Assoc. of Aesthetic Specialty Nurses-expert speaker, Cdn.Assoc.Medical Spas & Aesthetic Surgeons, International Assoc. for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine, and Board member for the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine she advocates for evidenced based expert practice and education locally, Provincially, Nationally & Internationally.
